12 Day Pilgrimage/Retreat to Medjugorje

ITINERARY
Day 1: Sunday….Departure From Newark
We will depart from Newark International Airport to Dubrovnik, Croatia, Sunday via Munich, Germany. We have confirmed seats, economy class, on Lufthansa Airlines. Dinner and a light breakfast will be served during the flight.
Mon Day 2: ….Arrival in Croatia
At the Munich International Airport, Fr. Glenn Sudano, CFR, will begin Monday our retreat celebrating a private Mass at the Airport Chapel. After Mass, we will depart for Dubrovnik, Croatia.
Upon arrival at Dubrovnik International Airport, after you have obtained your bags and have passed through customs, you will be greeted by a local English speaking tour guide. A private motor coach will take us to Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik Hotel. The Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik Hotel is approximately 30 minutes from the airport and right outside Pile Gates, Old Town Dubrovnik. At Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik Hotel we will enjoy dinner.
Tue Day 3: ….Old Town Dubrovnik
We will begin the day with breakfast at the Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik Hotel. After breakfast, Fr. Glenn will celebrate a private Mass for us at St. Blaise Church, Old Town, Dubrovnik. Following Mass, a local English speaking tour guide will give us a walking tour of Old Town. After the walking tour, you will have time to browse the quaint shops and to have lunch on your own at one of the restaurants famous for fish.
At the end of the day, dinner will be waiting for us at the Hilton Imperial Hotel.
Wed Day 4 ….Medjugorje
After breakfast at the Hilton Imperial we will depart for a 2 1/2 – 3 hour journey to Medjugorje via a private, air-conditioned motor coach. En route we will stop for lunch and private Mass. A hot dinner will be waiting for us at the hotel in Medjugorje.
In Medjugorje we will be staying at Hotel Jana, a beautiful, family-owned 4 star hotel, located 200 meters from St. James Church. Every room opens out to a balcony with a view of either Apparition Hill or Cross Mountain.
During our eight night stay in Medjugorje, we will enjoy breakfast and dinner in a private dining room at the hotel. Wine will be served with dinner. A conference room will be available to us for morning/evening prayer and Fr. Glenn’s spiritual conferences.
Thu-Wed Day 5-11 ….Medjugorje
This Pilgrimage will be very special as Fr. Glenn Sudano, CFR, a gifted spiritual director, will offer a retreat for the pilgrims during our stay in Medjugorje. The retreat will include all the activities of St. James Parish.
We will attend daily Mass at St. James Church (10am in English) and will have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. For those who are able, we will climb Apparition Hill (the site where Our Lady first appeared to the visionaries) and Cross Mountain.
Some of the highlights on the itinerary in Medjugorje will include:
1) Day excursion to Tihaljina; private Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Glenn. Following Mass, we will tour a local winery with magnificent views of Medjugorje. At the winery, we will enjoy a light lunch provided by St. Benedict Tours.
2) Day excursion to Divine Mercy Church, where Fr. Glenn will offer a private Mass. After Mass, St. Benedict Tours will treat the pilgrims to a specially prepared authentic Croatian luncheon at Restaurant Etno Kuca. The restaurant has been built to replicate an old world Croatian farm house and is known for its charming ambiance.
3) We will tour the studio of MaryTV and will be part of the audience during taping.
4) For those who are able, the pilgrims will climb Apparition Hill and Cross Mountain, accompanied by our local English speaking tour guide, Mirela Cigic.
After a day full of religious activities, our pilgrims will be able to enjoy Croatian culture, browse the gift shops, and “have a cup of cappuccino” in the nearby restaurants.
Thu Day 12 ….Departure for Home
After breakfast, we will depart for the Sarajevo International Airport for our return flight home…with our hearts filled with many joyful and memorable experiences.
