Itinerary
Day 1, Sep. 21….Departure From Newark International Airport
We will depart from Newark International Airport to Split, Croatia, via Munich, Germany. We have confirmed seats, economy class on Lufthansa Airlines. Dinner and a light breakfast will be served during the flight.
Day 2, Sep. 22… Arrival at Split International Airport
After you have obtained your bags and passed through customs at the Split International Airport, you will be greeted by our local, English speaking tour guide. A private, air-conditioned motor coach will be waiting for us to take us to our hotel in Old Town Split, Croatia, approximately a half an hour bus ride. Bottle water will be available on the bus, courtesy of St. Benedict Tours.
Arrival in Split, Croatia
In Split, we will be staying at Heritage Hotel Santa Lucia, located in the Pjaca, the most beautiful square in Split. Pjaca, also known as People’s Square, has been the center of the old city core since the 1770’s.The Heritage Hotel Santa Lucia was built in 1776. The hotel was recently restored and in April, 2021 opened its doors to 35 beautiful rooms. After a private Mass, celebrated by Fr. Glenn, we will enjoy dinner at Heritage Hotel Santa Lucia.
Day 3, Sep. 23….Split, Croatia
After breakfast, we will enjoy a two hour walking tour of Old Town Split. Following the walking tour, Fr. Glenn will celebrate Holy Mass, at one of the local churches. Lunch will be provided by St. Benedict Tours The afternoon will be free for relaxing and shopping in the many quaint shops of Old Town Split. In the evening, we will enjoy dinner, courtesy of St. Benedict Tours.
Day 4. Sep. 24…Departure for Medjugorje
Following breakfast, we will travel to Medjugorje, approximately two and half hour drive, via a private, air-conditioned bus. Bottles of water will be available on the bus. En route to Medjugorje, a rest stop is scheduled where you may purchase lunch, drinks, etc..Prior to our arrival in Medjugorje, Fr. Glenn will celebrate a private Mass for us at St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Church, Mostar, Bosnia.
In Medjugorje we will staying at Hotel Jana, a beautiful, family owned 4- plus stat hotel, located 200 meters from St. James Church Every room opens to a balcony with a view of either Apparition Hill or Cross Mountain.
During our seven night stay in Medjugorje, we will enjoy breakfast and dinner in a private dining room at the hotel. Red wine will be served with dinner. A conference room will be available to us for morning/evening prayer and Fr. Glenn’s conferences.
Day 5 – 10, Sep. 25 – Sep. 30….Medjugorje
The highlights on the itinerary in Medjugorje will include two one-day excursions:
1)Private Mass at Church of Divine Mercy, Surmanci
2)Private Mass at Church of Tihaljina, Medjugorje
During the 2 one-day excursions trips, St. Benedict Tours will provide lunch for the pilgrims at specially, selected restaurants.
During our stay in Medjugorje, we will attend daily Mass at St. James Church (10 am in English), participate in the evening spiritual programs, and will have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. For those that are able, we will climb Apparition Hill, (the site where Our Lady first appeared to the visionaries), and Cross Mountain.
Also, will visit local sites of Medjugorje, e.g.Cenacolo Community & Mother’s Village.
Pending availability, we will meet with visionaries and local priests.
Fr. Glenn Sudano, CFR, our spiritual director, will be offering retreat conferences during our pilgrimage. Fr. Glenn will also be available for spiritual direction and the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Day 11. Oct.1…..Departure for Home
We will depart early morning from Hotel Jana for our return flight from Sarajevo International Airport, via Frankfurt, to Newark International Airport. We have confirmed seats, economy class on Lufthansa .Airlines..Lunch and a light snack will be served during the flight.
