What Makes a Catholic Pilgrimage to Medjugorje with St. Benedict Tours Different?
For each pilgrim the spiritual need to come to Medjugorje is uniquely different and it seems that each one returns home in some way spiritually changed.
Why Journey to Medjugorje
Pilgrims who have traveled to Medjugorje have given testimony to the spiritual conversions that they experienced while in Medjugorje. Also, pilgrims realize that they unknowingly responded to a personal call from our Blessed Mother to go to Medjugorje. In responding to Mary’s call, many experience profound changes in their lives; conversion from a worldly life to a spiritual life, a call from Mary to return to her Son. Others have felt a call to an apostolic life of service in lay ministry, religious life and the holy priesthood. How does this spiritual change come about? It is Mary who leads her children to her Son. Some pilgrims have had profound spiritual experiences on Apparition Hill. Others have received the grace to return to the Sacrament of Reconciliation (after many years). Witnessing the spiritual healings received though the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the local guides and priests refer to Medjugorje as “the confessional of the world”. Pilgrims who come to Medjugorje with an open heart, return home with peace in their souls.
Spiritual Director: Fr. Glenn Sudano
Fr. Glenn Sudano, CFR, a gifted spiritual director, will be offering to our pilgrims a retreat during our stay in Medjugorje. The retreat will include praying together and daily conferences. Fr. Glenn will incorporate all of the spiritual activities offered in Medjugorje as part of the retreat.
In Medjugorje we will be staying at Hotel Jana, a beautiful, family-owned 4 star hotel, located 200 meters from St. James Church. Every room opens out to a balcony with a view of either Apparition Hill or Cross Mountain. During our eight night stay in Medjugorje, we will enjoy breakfast and dinner in a private dining room at the hotel. Wine will be served with dinner. A conference room will be available to us for morning/evening prayer and Fr. Glenn’s spiritual conferences.
“Medjugorje is a place where Heaven touches the earth”
On the eve of June 24, 1981, at approximately 6 pm, the Blessed Mother appeared to six Croatian children in a small, beautiful village, Medjugorje, Bosnia-Herzegovina (at the time, Yugoslavia). These alleged apparitions of the Blessed Mother, affectionately referred to by the children as “Gospa” (which means “Lady” in Croatian), have continued to this day. On two occasions Our Lady told the children, “Peace must reign between God and man, and between all people!” Our Lady’s message is that peace is the greatest good, and through faith, conversion, prayer, and fasting, we can all attain it. Since the first apparition in 1981, millions of people of all faiths have traveled to Medjugorje. Many pilgrims have reported physical and spiritual healings, conversion, and peace. Also, the “Fruits of Medjugorje” have brought many vocations to the Holy Priesthood and to the religious life. Once you visit Medjugorje, you will realize why Medjugorje is referred to as “the place where Heaven touches the earth.”
